Punk meets progressive. Satirical meets salacious. MAD Magazine meets People. Pity Party publishes chapbooks, broadsides, and anthologies by artists capturing the restlessness of these times. We favor the “I” over the “we;” we will not publish work that assumes or appropriates the experience of someone else as your own. If that’s what you write, go somewhere else.

We also publish poetry, fiction, and nonfiction on our website. If you’re interested in submitting, please email pitypartysubmissions@gmail.com with your name and genre in the subject line.

Here are some general guidelines:

• For our website, submit up to 5 poems or 3,000 words of prose.
• Chapbooks should be 10-60 pages long. We accept any genre.
• We do not accept broadside submissions—if you submit to be published online and we believe
your poem/quote would do well in a broadside, we will reach out.
• If you’re interested in being included in one of our anthologies, please indicate that in your
submission email.

We accept submissions for our January anthology from November 15-December 31.

We accept submissions for our April anthology from February 15-March 31.

We accept submissions for our July anthology from May 15-June 30.

We accept submissions for our October anthology from August 15-September 30.

We accept chapbook submissions year-round. However, we are run by a teacher and a production designer; so we may not get back to you quickly. Do not despair, we are simply working.
